Wednesday May 20 - Richland MO

Well, after too much iced tea and Chinese/Korean food for dinner, and all the excitement, I couldn’t sleep. I think it was 1:30-2am before I dozed off. I would hear dogs barking (although mine were in with me) and I would wonder what was prowling around… I woke up when John left for work around 4:30am, and that was that.

I was all ready to go with Pat to take Logan to school around 7:30am, my dogs were fed, watered and hooked to their cables. Oh, the cables… the dogs will follow you down the hill (Smudge and Tempest) and will run along the river road. So far they don’t go as far as the highway, but why take a chance?? So, the house dogs are in a run and mine are on cables. When we are here they are free to run, but I do keep an eye on Smudge to keep her away from the chickens.

We dropped Logan off at school, then it was my turn to drive as I was looking to take photos of old and falling down buildings. Our ultimate destination was to go to Wal-Mart to get the oil changed in the van. So, we puttered around Wal-Mart, then got the van, and puttered around Dollar Tree… WHEEE…cheap date! For lunch we treated ourselves to Wendy’s Oriental Chicken Salads to go(my Mom would be jealous!), I took more photos on our way home and we had lunch and then Pat laid down while I filled up Blue with yummy well water, after two-three tries to get close enough to the garage to attach both water hoses.

At that point Pat left to pick up Logan. To charge up my batteries, I needed to reposition Blue closer to the house, and managed to run over my electrical cord!!!

ARRRGGH! I was watching for the dogs and had thought I had tossed the cord out of the way! I managed to pull the connection apart inside the rig, the white wires were completely disconnected!! Even though I’m brain fatigued, I had a brilliant thought “Call Vince at Lazy Daze and double check”. So now he has something to tease me about! Fix accomplished, batteries recharged, Blue all tucked back in to his spot by the fence. BUT! He is ready to go to Escapade in Sedalia this weekend!

Oh, oh, the kids are home from school..better go…….

The kids have a snack and then do their chores. After that, it’s outside to play. The boxes have turned into a pretty good toy, for all ages. New little kitten "Willow"

We had teriyaki chicken legs with rice and steamed asparagus for dinner. We also served the cake that Pat made for the graduation. Annelise got back from her 8th grade trip to Silver Dollar City early, so I got volunteered to pick her up from the school. She had a great time but seemed pretty tired. Oh, since Smudge, Rico and Tempest were loose, I piled them in the van with Alizebeth and I. There was a little bit of growling and posturing on which dog got the window seat… On the way home, Smudge got her head stuck in the window and “scented” Annelise and I, which meant we HAD to take showers… peee-uuuwwwww. Everybody turned in early this evening.
