Friday May 15 – Richland MO

Pat and I took Annelise to meet Anjanine at the clinic so the doctor could look at her leg. It always amazes me how much area Ft Leonard Wood covers. Then we were in a rush to get Annelise something to eat and get back to the school to give Audriana an inhaler for her asthma.

So, of course, being lunch time, the lines were long at Burger King and McD’s, so we had to wait. Got up on the interstate to jam back to school and the wind gusts hit the Safari van, which feel scarier then when driving Blue. And of course, the truck traffic. Now I know why Anjanine is so stressed!

Oh!!! I forgot to mention the “ROCKS”. They aren’t rocks, they are turtles sunning themselves on the road. Every now and then a head will poke out, and the legs sometimes, too! They usually duck as you pass over them.

Once back home, Pat and I straightened up a room each (not an easy chore) and I spot cleaned the carpet. With 6 whirl wind kids, it doesn’t last long. Pat went to pick up Logan at pre school and I started washing clothes.

When the big kids got home via school bus, we handed each of them a brown bag and told them to collect their stuff and put it in their home or downstairs in the playroom. Same with the clean clothes.
Relaxing on the front lawn.
Monkeys in trees!!!!!!!!!

By the time John and Anjanine got home from bulk food shopping after work, the house looked pretty good. I had left to take Annelise to the high school so she could play in the senior band for the high school graduation. I came back and the house looked like a bomb hit with all the food stuffs being brought in!! I helped unpack, then it was time to go back and pick Annelise up.

I did notice the “ROCKS” aren’t out in the afternoon/evening. To keep dogs from chasing us down the road, we ended up with three in the car. Audrianna came with me.

When we returned, John was on the riding mower and Anjanine brought out her birthday present (a month early) and was grilling burgers. I noticed a lot of folks out mowing their lawns, the majority on riding mowers. Turns out this weekend has bad weather forecast so everyone is trying to get their outdoor chores done. At least when it’s windy the mosquitoes don’t come around!

Storm clouds over Blue in the early evening.

Chow was great, and then….the skies opened!!! We all went running to close doors and windows. As it was close to 9pm, I decided to turn in. There were some REALLY long, loud thunder claps!!! Rico jumped up on the bed with me and he was shivering!! What a baby. I opened the rear shade so I could see the lightening. I can also see the flashes through my new FanTastic fan!!
