The dogs tried to wake me up early today, but I resisted. The girls are going to a “Water Drop” conservation display put on by the Girl Scouts. Pat, John and I will meet them at 12:30 to drive to Branson to see Dolly Partons’ Dixie Stampede Show!
Anjanine drove the Safari with three kids and I to Branson, John, Pat and the others in the Yukon…. Oh, my goodness, what a traffic nightmare!! We had no problems getting to our turnoff, but the traffic in Branson is nuts!!

Not a real good sample of the traffic, but close!The main road is 3 lanes, to, from and turn, with very few signals. If it wasn’t for the kindness of some drivers, you would never be able to turn or merge!!! And it isn’t even high season!

We had a great time at the show. Lots of good food, all to be eaten with ones fingers; yummy cream of vegetable soup and roll, a big roasted game hen, a chunk of baked potato, a thick slice of pork, and an apple pie turnover. Plus all the drink you could hold, I probably had ¾ of a pitcher of iced tea!! Everyone but John got a doggy bag!!! There were lots of antics with comedy, horses, wagons, buckboards, music and laughter. Logan was fascinated with the show and if Anjanine hadn’t been shoveling food in his mouth, I don’t think he would have eaten.
We were able to get in with a special discount through the Girl Scouts, who were invited to a special class of tending horses. Unfortunately, we only caught the tail end of that, as no one warned us about the traffic, and we were late. So, the 5 girls with us didn’t get their “horse” patch.
On the way home we stopped at Sams’ Club in Springfield, then at Dairy Queen for an ice cream. No need to eat anymore today!! All the critters were happy to see us when we got home.
