I heard everybody leave this morning, but lazed around in my escape pod reading. Pat and I did more work around the house, with me being the laundress.
Today was also “find propane” day. I looked online and called one of the local RV Parks and was told go to Goodrich Propane. Well, after a couple of calls for directions, I finally found the place. I dropped Pat off at Walmart, after we first got off at the wrong offramp and toured beautiful Historic Route 66 Waynesville.
The folks at the propane place were pretty nice, I’ve never had Blue re-fueled directly from a truck before! Blue took 7 gallons, the most ever in 10 years!! As I was getting ready to leave, they guys advised me to back around and exit the way I entered, as I would tear off my carry rack if I didn’t….. pretty good angle from one level of the lot to the other, which is typical around here!
Pat and I re-connected at Walmart (remembered our cell phones and got our directions right!), and got goodies for Annelises 8th grade graduation tomorrow…. shorts, and other goodies for gifts, graduation décor, cake mix and frosting, batteries for everybody’s cameras. These were to add to the piñata, candy and prizes we had already purchased previously.
We ended up picking Logan up from pre-school in Blue, and the 8th graders thought we were the “lunch ladies”!! Logan had fun riding “in your TRUCK!!” He gets a kick out of the fact I “sleep in my TRUCK”, with truck always accentuated.
Blue has also been the hiding place for any goodies we don’t want the kids to see and my “escape pod”.
Anjanine put a corned beef with cabbage into the crock pot to cook early this morning, and boy did it smell good when we got home! We let Tempest and Buffy out when we got home, and take Rico and Smudge off their cables so they find various holes in the fencing and race down the hill to meet the kids, and as they are barking as they go, we get an early warning the kids are home.
The kids have to do any homework and then chores when they get off the school bus, then it’s out to play.
OH!! Tonight’s excitement. Annelise decided that tonight was the night to cut off her waist length hair!! She had tucked her hair into her shirt and liked the way it looked shorter, so she decided to take the plunge!!
Anjanine did the honors after Annelise took a shower to wet her hair and WACK!! The job was done. There is now 18” of pony tail to be sent to “Locks of Love” for some child undergoing cancer treatment. Annelise LOVES how her hair looks!! Audriana lined up for bangs for the first time, and now she REALLY looks like her mother did at that age!
We also worked with making a colorful red sash for Annelises black slip dress that she will wear tomorrow. As she will wear peep-toe shoes, Anjanine painted her finger and toe nails a red to match the sash. She now looks 14, instead of 12!!
