Wednesday June 10 – Berthoud CO to Rawlins WY

Got up in the morning and took Joan to breakfast. We had planned on breakfast in the old downtown of Loveland, but that restaurant was closed. As in the old days, I was driving Joan’s Mazda. I remember when it was new, almost 20 years ago!! So we ended up at IHOP, then we toured all the new retail development that is happening in the area. WOW!!! Such a huge shopping area!!

We took Joan home and made our farewells, then drove Blue back to old downtown Loveland to take photos and look at a couple of antique stores. Can you find Steve in the antique store, above??? Soda pop humor, below.....




From there we headed north toward Wyoming. We stayed on highway 287 through Fort Collins, where we stopped for lunch at the Big City Burrito. While we were inside it started to hail, then poured rain. I’m glad we were able to snag lunch and take some photos of neat buildings before the rain hit.

As we are staying on the smaller roads, we are seeing some neat old towns and buildings. We didn’t even realize we were in Wyoming!! We did pick up Interstate 80 in Laramie, and followed that to Rawlins, where we stayed the night at the RV World campsite. Kind of a sorry place, looks like it might have been a KOA at one time. Folks were friendly though, and we were able to do laundry and shower.
And of course, it’s still rainy!!
